An analysis and evaluation of a proposed project to determine if it
(1) is technically feasible,
(2) is feasible within the estimated cost, and
(3) will be profitable. Feasibility studies are almost always conducted where large sums are at stake. Also called feasibility analysis. See also cost benefit analysis.
The feasibility study concluded that the project would be able to be implemented to success as it was carefully planned.
A systematic approach to determining the optimum use of scarce resources, involving comparison of two or more alternatives in achieving a specific objective under the given assumptions and constraints.
Economic analysis takes into account the opportunity costs of resources employed and attempts to measure in monetary terms the private and social costs and benefits of a project to the community or economy.
Economic Analysis for Business
Economic Analysis for Business is a course designed to help you understand the structure of the economy, how&an economy operates, why economic problems occur and the reasons why policy makers make the decisions they do. The course is also designed to give you an understanding of economic concepts and how to apply them in “real world” situations. Business people must make decisions whose outcomes will be influenced by the state of the surrounding economy. This course is designed to provide a deeper understanding of the economic issues that need to be taken into consideration when such decisions are made. This course aims to introduce you to: * the nature of economic reasoning * the role of the entrepreneur in organizing production * how markets function * the major economic statistical series & * macroeconomic theory * the theory of the business cycle * the theory of inflation * the theory of money and credit * the basic elements of international trade and finance. & If you are undertaking this course in Melbourne from semester 2, 2012 onward your teacher will advise you if you require access to a computer for the course. It is recommended that you have access to a mobile computing device to allow greater flexibility in terms of where you can work on campus outside class times.
